Arjun Kapoor Returns To Comedy With Anees Bazmee For ‘No Entry 2’ And ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’

February 19, 2025: Actor Arjun Kapoor is all set to team up once again with director Anees Bazmee for the upcoming comedy film No Entry 2, alongside co-stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh.

The actor, known for his versatility in roles, shared his excitement for the project, emphasizing how much he enjoys comedy as a genre. Arjun expressed, “Comedy is a genre that we all enjoy as an audience watching in theatres. Agar aap logon ko hansa sake, issey achi koi feeling hoti nahi” (If you can make people laugh, there’s no better feeling than that). He further mentioned his past collaboration with Bazmee in the hit romantic-comedy Mubarakan (2017) and is now looking forward to more comedy roles, hinting that the film’s shoot is expected to begin soon.

The No Entry franchise is a significant one for Bazmee, with the first film, released in 2005, becoming a major success. The original featured a stellar cast with Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, and centered around three married men hiding their extramarital affairs. The film’s humor and lively plot made it a favorite among audiences, setting high expectations for the sequel.

Arjun, after showcasing his action skills in Singham Again, is also excited about his upcoming rom-com Mere Husband Ki Biwi, in which he stars alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. During promotions for this film, Arjun revealed that the unique title caught his attention immediately when he read the script. He said, “When you watch the film, the title will seem appropriate from both the girls’ point of view as one is the ex, and the other is the future.”

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Mere Husband Ki Biwi is a lighthearted comedy exploring the quirks and complexities of romantic relationships. The director, known for films like Pati Patni Aur Woh, mentioned his inspiration from a Marathi show for the film’s title. The film also stars Dino Morea, Harsh Gujral, and Shakti Kapoor.

On set, Rakul Preet Singh praised her co-star Harsh Gujral for his dedication, sharing how he practiced a complicated hook step from one of the songs late into the night before perfecting it for the shoot. Rakul, Bhumi, and Arjun also spoke about the camaraderie they shared while working together.

Arjun further revealed his interest in doing epic, period dramas, mentioning that after watching the trailer of Chhaava, he would love to take on larger-than-life roles.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which promises wholesome entertainment and plenty of laughs, is set to hit theatres on February 21. The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh, and presented by Vashu Bhagnani & Puja Films. The director Aziz believes the film will appeal to a wide audience, as it celebrates both the humor and intricacies of modern-day relationships.
