Actor Denies Easing His Children’s Path, Stating Filmmakers Won’t “Bet” Hundreds of Crores on Recommendations

Veteran actor Arshad Warsi has offered a candid perspective on the realities of the Hindi film industry, particularly addressing the debate around nepotism and the perceived ease with which star kids enter the profession. Warsi firmly believes that personal connections hold little sway when it comes to securing major roles.

Children’s Aspirations and the Struggle

In a recent interview, Arshad Warsi revealed that both his children—son Zeke (21) and daughter Zoe (18)—aspire to be actors. Zeke has already gained industry experience by assisting directors like Siddharth Anand and Rajkumar Hirani.

Warsi admitted that he is worried about their choice of profession:

“Of course, I’m scared — it is a tough job today. Acting is not an easy profession anymore as the success rate is so low. Out of 150 crore, a handful become actors.”

Refusing to Use Influence

When asked if he would use his standing and connections to recommend his children to filmmakers, Warsi was emphatic in his refusal, arguing that success must be earned independently.

“Nobody can help anybody here — you have to make your own way. I can’t make a call to a director and ask them to invest hundreds of crores in my kids. Koi mere bete pe satta kyun lagayega (Why would anyone bet on my kid)?”

He stressed that even a casual request for a meeting implies an expectation of being cast, something he is unwilling to do. He concluded by questioning the financial logic: “Why would anybody do that? Why would filmmakers bet on my kids if I ask them to do so? Why should I recommend my kids to anyone?”

Warsi’s Upcoming Projects

Arshad Warsi, known for his versatility, was recently seen in a well-received cameo as a crime lord in Aryan Khan’s web series, The Ba*ds of Bollywood. The actor has two feature film releases slated for this year: Jolly LLB 3 and Bhagawat Chapter One: Raakshas.
