After his hit OTT debut, filmmaker Aryan Khan is preparing for his first theatrical release, with sources reporting that his third directorial—slated for 2027—will star his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan, in the lead.

November 7, 2025: Filmmaker Aryan Khan, who recently emerged as one of the industry’s most promising young voices following the success of his Netflix series The Ba*ds of Bollywood, is reportedly charting a strategic career path that will culminate in directing his father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

According to industry reports, the much-anticipated father-son collaboration is planned for Aryan’s third directorial venture and is projected to begin production sometime in 2027.

Earning the Opportunity

Sources close to the project reveal that the 27-year-old filmmaker is determined to first prove his mettle as a successful theatrical director before taking on the challenge of guiding King Khan behind the camera.

1. Second Project (First Feature Film): Aryan is intensely focused on completing the script for his second feature, which will mark his theatrical directorial debut. Reports indicate that Shah Rukh Khan will not be playing the lead role in this initial big-screen venture, as Aryan aims to establish his unique cinematic identity first.
