The television actor issues his first statement, expressing faith in the judicial system following his recent arrest and release.
September 17, 2025: A Delhi court has let Ashish Kapoor, a TV actor who was arrested in Pune on September 3 on a rape charge, go free on bail. A few days after he got out of jail, Kapoor made his first public statement on Instagram. He said how happy he was and how much he trusted India’s legal system.
The actor stated in his statement, “I feel a deep sense of relief and thankfulness after what happened recently.” This experience has truly made me realize how strong our democracy is and how vital the concepts in our constitution are. I have total faith in the justice system, and this outcome has only strengthened that faith.

In August, the actor was accused of raping a woman in the bathroom of a house party in Delhi. The woman indicated that a video of the occurrence was made, but the police said they haven’t found one yet. The court stated there was no proof that Kapoor had not helped with the inquiry and that he was no longer needed for custodial interrogation when it let him go. The court also said that the police investigation had other “lapses,” such taking too long to provide the actor a notice to join the investigation.
People know Kapoor from his parts in TV shows like Sasural Simar Ka 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Ssshhh…Phir Koi Hai. People liked him since he played Uday in Dekha Ek Khwaab.
