Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Deletes LinkedIn After Viral Coldplay Concert Incident

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron appears to have deleted or deactivated his LinkedIn account following backlash over a viral video that captured an intimate moment between him and colleague Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston on Wednesday.

Byron, who attended the event with Cabot, the company’s Chief Public Officer, was caught on Coldplay’s kiss cam as the two were seen embracing. When the camera panned to them, the pair looked startled, quickly separated, and attempted to hide their faces. A woman sitting beside them appeared visibly amused, covering her mouth in surprise. Cabot turned away from the camera to avoid being seen.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, unaware of the full context, quipped over the mic, “They’re either too shy or having an affair.” Later in the concert, Martin added, “Hope we didn’t do something wrong,” after realizing the moment had gone viral.

Public speculation around the nature of Byron and Cabot’s relationship intensified online, with many accusing Byron of infidelity. Following the video’s circulation, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan — an Associate Director at the Bancroft School — removed her married surname from her Facebook profile. The couple shares two children.

Attempts to access Byron’s LinkedIn profile now lead to a message reading: “This page doesn’t exist. Please check your URL or return to LinkedIn home,” indicating that the account has either been deactivated or deleted.

Byron became CEO of Astronomer in 2023 and appointed Cabot as Chief Public Officer in November 2024. In a since-deleted LinkedIn post, he described her addition to the team as marking a “transformative” time for the company.
