The much-anticipated Salman Khan-Atlee collaboration, rumored to feature Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan, has reportedly been shelved. Atlee has now moved on to work with Allu Arjun.

February 11, 2025: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and filmmaker Atlee were set to collaborate on a high-octane action-drama that had fans excited. Reports suggested that the film might also feature Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan. However, latest industry buzz indicates that the project has been shelved indefinitely, leaving fans disappointed. Meanwhile, Atlee has moved on to work with Allu Arjun for his next film.

What Led to the Project Being Shelved?

Following the blockbuster success of Jawan, Salman Khan fans were eager to see him work with Atlee, hoping for another mass entertainer. The project was reportedly in the pre-production stage, but now sources reveal that it has been put on hold indefinitely for reasons unknown, as reported by Masala.com.

Atlee’s New Projects & Hints About Future Collaborations

After Jawan, Atlee signed Varun Dhawan for the upcoming action film Baby John. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Atlee hinted that Salman Khan might still be part of his future projects.

“Definitely, I am going to surprise everyone with the casting. What you are thinking, yes (that’s true). But you are going to really get surprised,” Atlee said, further stating that he is planning a major announcement soon.

The Mega Budget Warrior Drama That Never Happened

According to reports Salman Khan and Atlee’s collaboration was planned as a grand reincarnation drama with an enormous budget.

“It’s going to be Salman Khan presented like never before, in the avatar of a warrior in the period era, while the modern-day storyline remains a mystery for now,” the source stated.

Atlee was also working on locking in a parallel lead, with either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth in talks for the role. However, with the shelving of the project, fans may not get to see this ambitious collaboration anytime soon.

What’s Next for Salman Khan & Atlee?

While Atlee is now focused on his film with Allu Arjun, Salman Khan has multiple upcoming films lined up, including The Bull and Sikandar. Whether the Khan-Atlee project will be revived in the future remains to be seen.
