Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s beloved romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan turned seven on Sunday, marking a milestone in the careers of both actors. The film, which struck a chord with audiences for its unique take on romance and relationships, continues to be celebrated for its charm and humor.

To commemorate the occasion, Ayushmann Khurrana took to Instagram, sharing a nostalgic video clip from the film. His post reflected on the movie’s impact and the memorable journey of its characters, Mudit and Sugandha. Fans flooded the comments with love, reminiscing about their favorite scenes and the film’s enduring appeal.

Bhumi Pednekar also shared her sentiments on Instagram, posting a sweet photo of herself with Ayushmann. The two are seen sipping tea and nibbling on half biscuits, a subtle nod to one of the film’s iconic scenes. Bhumi captioned the post, “Mudit and Sugandha in 2024, 7 years since the biscuit fell,” playfully referencing a memorable moment from the film.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, released on September 1, 2017, was a refreshing take on modern relationships. The film tells the story of Mudit, a young man from Delhi, who discovers he has erectile dysfunction just before his marriage to Sugandha, played by Bhumi Pednekar. The movie tackled a sensitive subject with humor and grace, earning widespread praise for its bold storytelling and relatable characters.

Produced by Anand L. Rai, the film is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Kalyana Samayal Saadham. Its success at the box office and with critics paved the way for a sequel, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which was released in 2020. The sequel continued to explore unconventional love stories, with Ayushmann Khurrana taking on a new role, while Bhumi made a cameo appearance.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was recognized at the 63rd Filmfare Awards, garnering five nominations, including Best Actor for Ayushmann Khurrana, Best Actress for Bhumi Pednekar, and Best Supporting Actress for Seema Pahwa. The film’s success solidified Ayushmann and Bhumi’s reputations as versatile actors capable of delivering both humor and heartfelt performances.

As the film turns seven, it remains a fan favorite, celebrated for its honest portrayal of a modern-day relationship. The chemistry between Ayushmann and Bhumi, coupled with the film’s clever writing and direction, ensures that Shubh Mangal Saavdhan continues to hold a special place in Bollywood history.
