Ayushmann Khurrana Named ‘Fit India’ Icon To Promote Fitness And Well-being

March 17, 2025: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana was named the official Fit India Icon by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya during the inaugural ceremony of the Fit India Movement in New Delhi on Sunday. This marks a significant recognition as Ayushmann joins Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement, which aims to make fitness a part of daily life in India.

Ayushmann, who enjoys a massive fan following among the youth, is now determined to inspire millions of Indians to prioritize their health and well-being. Through his association with the movement, he encourages people to embrace fitness with enthusiasm and dedication.

The Fit India Movement is designed to promote physical fitness as a fundamental aspect of daily life, offering simple and enjoyable ways for people to stay active. It aims to eliminate barriers to fitness, spread awareness about physical activities, and educate citizens about the numerous benefits of staying active. The movement also seeks to revive and promote traditional Indian sports, celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Speaking at the event, Ayushmann emphasized the importance of good health in every aspect of life. He said, “When your health is good, the challenges in life—whether personal or professional—seem manageable. But when your health is compromised, it becomes the only challenge that matters. Good health empowers us to do anything. A healthy individual is capable, confident, and resilient—even when the world around them feels uncertain. Health truly is everything. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation.”

He thanked the Prime Minister and Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for the honor, adding, “I am deeply honored to be named a Fit India Icon. I offer my blessings to the younger generation and to our great nation—Ayushman Bhava.”

Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya praised Ayushmann for his influence, saying, “When celebrities like you join the Fit India platform and share a positive message, many youngsters will get inspiration and will join the Fit India movement and stay fit. This will help make India a developed nation.”

The Fit India Movement was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 29, 2019, to make fitness an integral part of everyday life and encourage citizens to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
