Azaad Day 3 Box Office: Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan’s Debut Film Inches Towards ₹5 Crore

The Ajay Devgn-starrer period drama shows slight growth on its first Sunday, collecting ₹4.65 crore so far.

January 20, 2025: Abhishek Kapoor’s Azaad, starring Ajay Devgn, Rasha Thadani, and Aaman Devgan, continues its slow but steady journey at the box office. The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of Aaman Devgan (Ajay Devgn’s nephew) and Rasha Thadani (Raveena Tandon’s daughter), has managed to earn ₹4.65 crore in its opening weekend.

Day 3 Box Office Update

According to Sacnilk, Azaad collected ₹1.5 crore on its opening day and ₹1.3 crore on Day 2. On its first Sunday, the film showed slight growth, earning ₹1.85 crore. The total earnings for the weekend now stand at ₹4.65 crore. The movie had an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.66% on Sunday, making it the biggest opener among newcomer films post-pandemic.

About the Film

Produced by RSVP Movies, Azaad is a period drama set in pre-independence India. It explores the touching bond between a young stable boy and a horse. The film also stars Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra in pivotal roles.

Rasha Thadani shared her experience of working with horses in an interview with ANI, saying, “I think of horses as big puppies, and I love animals. When Azaad (the horse) entered the set, I immediately felt like hugging him. Working with animals in my first film was a huge deal for me.”

Describing her on-screen character, Rasha added, “My character is headstrong and fearless. She knows who she is and where she comes from. She is very determined and confident.”

Outlook

With its heartfelt storyline and star power, Azaad has garnered attention for its performances and period setting. While the film’s box office performance has been moderate, it continues to attract audiences, especially with its unique theme and strong ensemble cast.
