Babil Khan’s Family Clarifies Viral Videos: Actor Safe After Emotional Outburst On Social Media

May 04, 2025: Following the widespread circulation of emotional videos from Babil Khan’s now-deleted Instagram account, the family of the young actor and son of the late Irrfan Khan released a statement to clarify the situation and reassure well-wishers.

In the statement shared on Sunday, Babil’s family and team acknowledged that he was going through a difficult time. “Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon,” the statement read.

The family emphasized that the video clips circulating online were “widely misinterpreted” and taken out of context. “In the clip, Babil was sincerely acknowledging a few of his peers whom he believes are making meaningful contributions to the evolving landscape of Indian cinema,” it said.

Babil’s mentions of artists such as Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh were, according to the statement, expressions of genuine admiration for their authenticity and passion. “His words came from a place of appreciation for their efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry,” it added.

The family urged both the media and the public to view his statements in full context rather than forming conclusions from fragmented video clips.

On Sunday, Babil Khan was seen in a series of emotional Instagram stories, during which he appeared to break down and candidly discussed the pressures and challenges of being in the Hindi film industry. He also spoke about the alleged bullying he had faced, expressing the emotional toll it had taken on him. Shortly after, his Instagram account was deleted, and the profile became inaccessible to the public.

Babil, who debuted in the critically acclaimed film Qala and was recently seen in Logout, has consistently shared his emotional journey following the passing of his father, the late Irrfan Khan. On the anniversary of Irrfan’s death, Babil had posted a heartfelt tribute that read:

“With you, without you. Life goes on. With me, without me. Soon I’ll be there. With you, not without you. And we will run together, and fly. Drink from waterfalls, pink not blue. I will hug you so tight, and I will cry. Then we’ll laugh, just like we used to. I miss you.”

The incident has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and peers, applauding Babil for his vulnerability and courage in speaking about mental health and the often-unspoken struggles within the film industry.
