December 24, 2024: Varun Dhawan’s highly anticipated action film Baby John, directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, has opened advance bookings, but the initial response has been underwhelming. The film, set for a Christmas release, has sold 44,782 tickets so far, generating an advance booking revenue of approximately ₹2.05 crore, according to Sacnilk.
At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Varun Dhawan emphasized the challenges of securing a Christmas release date.
“In today’s environment, strong production backing is essential. Historically, Christmas has been Aamir Khan’s preferred release window, and we are thankful for getting this date.”
The film features an impressive lineup, including Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, and Jackie Shroff in key roles. Additionally, Salman Khan will make a cameo appearance, and Diljit Dosanjh will feature in the song “Nain Mattakka”.
Post Baby John, Varun Dhawan is set to work on Border 2, alongside an upcoming romantic film with Janhvi Kapoor.
Despite the slow start, the makers of Baby John are optimistic about stronger footfalls over the weekend, driven by holiday excitement and word-of-mouth publicity.
