Box Office Performance So Far:

After witnessing a sharp dip on its first Friday, with collections plummeting to ₹3.65 crore, the film showed a marginal improvement on Saturday, earning approximately ₹4.25 crore. As per early estimates from Sacnilk.com, Baby John has garnered ₹23.90 crore net in its four-day run.

Baby John’s box office struggles are largely attributed to the dominance of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule and Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King.

  • Pushpa 2 has already crossed the ₹1,500 crore milestone globally, maintaining strong momentum at the box office.
  • Mufasa: The Lion King has earned over ₹100 crore domestically, becoming the third Hollywood blockbuster of 2024 to achieve this feat.

Show Cancellations and Marco’s Rise:

Reports emerged on Saturday indicating multiple screenings of Baby John were cancelled and replaced by Marco, the Hindi-dubbed version of Unni Mukundan’s Malayalam action-thriller.

Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, has seen an impressive box office run:

  • ₹29.9 crore net collection in India
  • ₹57 crore worldwide gross

The film’s growing popularity led to the addition of over 140 new Hindi screenings, announced by Unni Mukundan on X (formerly Twitter).

With Marco set to release in Telugu on January 1, its box office prospects look even brighter.

What Lies Ahead for Baby John?

While Baby John still has an uphill battle at the box office, the coming week will be crucial in determining whether the film can sustain its run against growing competition.
