February 8, 2025: At the 30th Critics Choice Awards held on Friday (early Saturday morning in India) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, Baby Reindeer claimed the prestigious award for Best Limited Series. The Netflix British black comedy-drama thriller, created and starring Richard Gadd, won over a competitive field that included notable contenders like Disclaimer, Masters of the Air, and The Penguin.

Based on Gadd’s autobiographical one-man show, Baby Reindeer follows the story of Donny Dunn, a comedian whose life is turned upside down by a disturbing relationship with a stalker, Martha, portrayed by Jessica Gunning. The series has been widely praised for its sharp writing, dark humor, and emotional depth, making it a standout in the limited series category.

At the same ceremony, Jessica Gunning earned the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for her gripping performance as Martha Scott. Gunning’s portrayal of a complex character with a criminal past has been lauded, cementing her status as one of the year’s most talented performers.

In her emotional acceptance speech, Gunning expressed heartfelt gratitude to Richard Gadd, saying, “He changed my life actually, choosing me to play Martha, so I want to say thank you to him for everyone.” She also thanked the entire Baby Reindeer team, recognizing the collective effort behind the show’s success.
