‘Bad Newz’ Starring Vicky Kaushal Scores Big at Box Office

Vicky Kaushal’s new film, ‘Bad Newz,’ has made a remarkable debut at the box office, earning Rs 8.62 crore on its first day in India. The comedy-drama, which also features Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri, has been well-received by audiences.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the film’s opening on X, stating, “#BadNewz ushers in #GoodNewz for the industry… And #GreatNewz for #VickyKaushal, who delivers his career-best opener.” Adarsh attributed the film’s successful start to its captivating trailer and the popular song ‘Tauba Tauba.’ He anticipates that ‘Bad Newz’ could gross approximately Rs 33 crore in its opening weekend, driven by positive reviews and strong performance in major cities.

The film also features special appearances by actresses Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. A special screening was held for members of the film industry on Thursday night, with the cast, crew, and Vicky’s family in attendance. Vicky Kaushal arrived at the event with his wife, actress Katrina Kaif, to celebrate the film’s release.

Directed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bad Newz’ is considered a follow-up to the 2019 hit ‘Good Newwz,’ which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film humorously explores the concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, involving two fathers, one mother, and one baby.

‘Bad Newz’ is co-produced by Anand Tiwari, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. Neha Dhupia also appears in the film. With its strong opening and favorable reception, ‘Bad Newz’ is poised to be a major success in Bollywood.
