Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma’s Band Baaja Baaraat Set for Theatrical Re-Release on January 16

Ranveer Singh’s debut film, Band Baaja Baaraat, starring him alongside Anushka Sharma, is returning to theatres this month. PVR INOX announced that the beloved 2010 romantic comedy will be re-released on January 16, giving fans a chance to relive the story on the big screen. The announcement comes amid the box office success of Ranveer’s latest film, Dhurandhar.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Band Baaja Baaraat tells the story of Shruti (Anushka Sharma) and Bittoo (Ranveer Singh), two ambitious Delhi graduates who launch a wedding planning business called Shadi Mubarak. Their journey through friendship, trust, and the chaos of Indian weddings eventually blossoms into love.

PVR Cinemas shared the news on Instagram, highlighting the film as “a rom-com that never gets old” and inviting audiences to “catch the fun all over again.” Niharika Bijli, lead strategist of PVR INOX, praised the film as one of the rare stories that remain relatable and enjoyable across generations. She noted that its timeless music, sharp humour, and heartfelt performances make it a celebration of friendship, ambition, and love.

Band Baaja Baaraat was a box office hit in 2010 and established Ranveer Singh as a rising star in Bollywood. With this re-release, a new generation of viewers can experience the charm of the film in theatres once more.

Meanwhile, Ranveer’s action spy thriller Dhurandhar continues to dominate at the box office, surpassing ₹720 crore domestically and becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.
