Barry Keoghan Shares Birth Of His Son Helps Him Understand The Struggle Of His Mother
January 19, 2025: Barry Keoghan recently opened up about how becoming a father has deepened his understanding of the struggles his mother faced during his childhood.
In a new video, the actor reflected on his experience growing up in the foster care system, revealing that he had lived in 13 different foster homes before being taken in by his grandmother. Keoghan shared that, with the arrival of his own son, Brando, he gained a new appreciation for the hardships his mother and father endured. He emphasized the significance of a supportive care system, which played a vital role in his life during those difficult years.
Keoghan has previously spoken about his challenging upbringing, including his mother’s battle with addiction and her death when he was just 12 years old. Despite his success and fame in Hollywood, Keoghan admitted that he still feels “a massive loneliness.”
As a father, Keoghan has occasionally discussed his son Brando, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro. However, he expressed discomfort with the increasing public attention surrounding his child. He shared that the more attention he receives, the less he feels it is fair to post about Brando online, stating, “I ain’t going to feed them more material. They don’t deserve that.” Keoghan’s decision to limit sharing images of his son reflects his desire to protect his child’s privacy and shield him from unnecessary public scrutiny.
