Bebe Rexha Responds to Azealia Banks and Met Gala Body Shaming Online Storm

The singer opens up about her PCOS and recent miscarriage in a heartfelt post, responding powerfully to Azealia Banks’ weight-related comments.

May 7, 2025: Bebe Rexha has made an emotional revelation following harsh body-shaming remarks about her appearance at the Met Gala 2025. After rapper Azealia Banks took to social media to comment on Rexha’s body, the “Meant to Be” singer responded with a candid post revealing that she recently suffered a pregnancy loss.

Rexha, 35, looked stunning in a plunging black tuxedo-style gown designed by Christian Siriano for her first-ever Met Gala. However, her appearance became the subject of unsolicited scrutiny. Banks, who didn’t attend the event, insinuated in a now-viral post that Rexha’s weight gain was due to hormonal birth control, saying, “It’s giving implanon/nuvaring she needs removed.”

Rexha fired back on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I’m so tired of people commenting on my weight.” In a now-deleted post and a series of follow-up tweets, she explained that she suffers from PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and struggles with infertility.

“I got pregnant, and it didn’t work out. I’ve been carrying that pain in silence,” she wrote. “Maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body.”

In a direct reply to Banks, Rexha suggested therapy: “Lexapro worked great for me. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it.”

Fans flooded Rexha’s comment sections with messages of support and empathy. “You are beautiful inside and out,” one wrote. “I’m sorry for the loss of your baby,” said another. Many urged the singer to prioritize her mental health and ignore the hate.

Rexha previously called out ex-boyfriend Keyan Safyari in 2023 over a body-shaming text and was last publicly linked to Greek architect Simos Liakos in 2024.

Despite the online drama, Rexha embraced the Met Gala with grace, sharing glamorous behind-the-scenes moments and celebrating her debut at the fashion event with pride.
