Bella Thorne Accuses Mickey Rourke of On-Set Abuse: “One of the Worst Experiences of My Life”

Bella Thorne opens up about alleged misconduct and trauma while filming a past project with Rourke, following his controversial comments about JoJo Siwa.

Los Angeles, April 12 — Actress Bella Thorne has come forward with serious allegations against veteran actor Mickey Rourke, describing her time working with him as “one of the all time worst experiences of my life.” The revelation comes in the wake of Rourke’s recent homophobic remarks targeting singer JoJo Siwa, which sparked backlash across social media.

Taking to her Instagram Stories and X (formerly Twitter), Thorne posted a photo of Rourke with a scathing message:
“This f*ing dude. GROSS.”** She went on to recount a harrowing experience from an unnamed film where, during a scene, Rourke was supposed to take a metal grinder to her knee cap while she was tied up. Instead, she alleges, “he used it on my genitals through my jeans. Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone.”

Thorne said the incident left her both physically and emotionally traumatized.

Though she didn’t name the film, Rourke and Thorne previously starred together in the 2020 horror-thriller Girl. She further claimed that Rourke repeatedly humiliated her on set, once revving his engine to intentionally cover her in dirt in front of the crew.
“So many gross stories,” she wrote. “Including being forced to go alone into his trailer to beg him to cooperate with the production. He refused to speak to the director or producers.”

Thorne said she stayed silent at the time to protect the production, stating, “I didn’t wanna do it, but I did what was best for the movie.”

In response, Rourke’s team issued a statement denying the allegations:

“Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct… He has not been contacted previously with any claims of this nature and was unaware of any discomfort expressed by Ms. Thorne at the time. He is prepared to cooperate fully with any appropriate inquiry.”

The statement also added that Rourke would refrain from further public comment out of respect for all involved.

The accusations have ignited a broader conversation online about the lingering presence of toxicity and unsafe behavior in the film industry. As Thorne’s revelations gain traction, many are calling for increased accountability and protection for young actors—especially on intense film sets.

This latest development adds another layer of controversy around Mickey Rourke, whose behavior both on and off-screen has long drawn public scrutiny.
