Just months after finalizing his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, the Hollywood star opened up about his admiration for Latinas and his continued bond with her family.
Los Angeles, May 9, 2025 – Just four months after his high-profile divorce from global superstar Jennifer Lopez, actor Ben Affleck is making headlines again — this time for declaring his continued affection for Latinas.
While dining at Lavo in West Hollywood on Thursday, Affleck was approached by a TMZ paparazzo who asked him in Spanish how it felt to be “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.” The 52-year-old Oscar winner smiled and responded with a confident “Muy bien” (very good).

When further pressed on whether he still liked Latinas, the “Gone Girl” star didn’t hesitate: “Of course I do.”
Affleck, who learned Spanish at age 13 while filming a children’s TV show in Mexico, shares a long history with Lopez, who is of Puerto Rican descent. The two originally dated in the early 2000s, rekindled their romance in 2021, and married in July 2022. However, the marriage ended in January 2025 following Lopez’s divorce filing last August.

Despite their split, Affleck has remained close to Lopez’s 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage to singer Marc Anthony. Affleck, who co-parents three children — Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13) — with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, has often spoken warmly of the bond between their blended families.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the recent premiere of The Accountant 2, Affleck praised Lopez, saying, “Jennifer Lopez is spectacular — great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. She is a tremendous person of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
