April 10, 2025: Record producer and songwriter Benny Blanco recently celebrated his birthday in the most heartwarming way — by throwing a prom-themed party for his fiancée, Selena Gomez, who never got to experience prom in high school.
Blanco shared the sweet gesture during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing that the unique idea was all about making a special memory for Gomez. “Selena had never been to a prom before, so I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday,” he told Hudson.
The couple embraced the theme in full swing, complete with formalwear and even a corsage for Gomez. “She didn’t even know, she was like, ‘What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?!’” Blanco recalled. “It was like she was really going to prom.”
He also reminisced about his own past prom experiences but called this one the most special. “My favorite prom was with my partner,” he told Hudson.
The adorable gesture adds to the growing list of sweet moments shared between the couple, who confirmed their relationship in December 2023 when Gomez liked and commented on fan accounts posting photos of them together. Since then, the two have not only been open about their relationship but also collaborated musically, releasing a joint album last month that gave fans an intimate look into their love story.
