Speaking to a massive crowd of 30,000 at a soccer stadium, Beyoncé, who hails from Houston, emphasized the importance of the election and the issues at stake, particularly focusing on abortion rights in Texas, which has some of the strictest abortion laws in the nation.
Beyoncé introduced Harris at the event, highlighting her dedication to creating a world where women have autonomy over their bodies. “It’s time for America to sing a new song,” she declared, formally endorsing Harris in her presidential campaign against former President Donald Trump. She positioned herself not just as a celebrity but as a concerned mother, stressing her commitment to the future of children in the country.
Joining Beyoncé on stage was Kelly Rowland, her bandmate from Destiny’s Child, who echoed the sentiment of pride in supporting Harris as a strong leader who is advocating for critical changes in the nation.
