Beyoncé Swaps Sphere Visual After Legal Notice, Replaces It with Allegiant Stadium on Cowboy Carter Tour
Los Angeles, May 5: Beyoncé has updated the visuals for her Cowboy Carter Tour after reportedly receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the Sphere in Las Vegas. Originally, the show included a segment in which a larger-than-life Beyoncé picked up the Sphere, the high-tech venue known for its immersive LED displays. However, during her third performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday, the Sphere was noticeably replaced by Allegiant Stadium — the Las Vegas venue where Beyoncé is scheduled to perform in July.
The change follows reports from the New York Post and Billboard, which stated that the Sphere’s parent company, MSG Entertainment, objected to the imagery being used in Beyoncé’s tour. The letter reportedly expressed concern that the visual misled fans into believing Beyoncé might close her tour with a residency at the Sphere — a possibility that had previously been discussed but never materialized.
So far, neither Beyoncé’s team nor Sphere representatives have officially commented on the legal notice or the modification to the concert visuals.
The Cowboy Carter Tour kicked off last week at SoFi Stadium and has already drawn widespread acclaim. The Hollywood Reporter described it as a “spectacular three-hour country hoedown” combining cinematic interludes, elaborate choreography, and jaw-dropping pyrotechnics. The tour supports Beyoncé’s genre-blending new album Cowboy Carter, her first major follow-up to 2023’s Renaissance Tour.
Beyoncé will perform two more nights in Los Angeles before heading to Chicago’s Soldier Field for a three-night run beginning May 15.
