Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Crosses ₹100 Crore Mark in Opening Weekend, Horror-Comedy Becomes 2024’s Third Highest Opener
November 5, 2024: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, has entered the ₹100 crore club, making it the third highest opener of 2024. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the horror-comedy raked in ₹106 crore during its opening weekend. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹33.5 crore on Sunday alone, bringing the three-day total to an impressive figure.
The film began its box office journey with ₹35.5 crore on Friday and ₹37 crore on Saturday, despite a slight dip in collections. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 follows Stree 2 and Singham Again, which opened at ₹55.4 crore and ₹43.7 crore, respectively.
A surprising start for the franchise hit, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 initially had fewer screens than Singham Again. However, increased demand led to additional late-night shows at 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. in multiple cities. Sunday saw an occupancy rate of 67.27%, with the highest attendance during evening screenings.
City-wise, Chennai reported the highest occupancy at 84.25% with 56 shows, while Lucknow followed at 79.75% with 177 shows. Mumbai had an impressive 77.75% occupancy across 826 shows. Delhi NCR, with the maximum number of shows (1,010), saw a 63.75% occupancy rate, and Hyderabad had the lowest with 56.5% across 207 shows. By Sunday, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 had expanded to 4,397 shows from 4,294 on Saturday.
Produced by T-Series and Cine1 Studios, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 features an ensemble cast, including Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Rajpal Yadav, adding to the franchise’s charm and mass appeal.
