After a delayed theatrical release amid geopolitical tension, Karan Sharma’s romantic comedy surprises fans with an early digital debut on Amazon Prime Video.

In a surprising move, Bhool Chuk Maaf, the charming Hindi romantic comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, just two weeks after its theatrical release.
Originally set to release on May 9, the film faced a delay due to the India-Pakistan conflict, prompting speculation that it would skip theatres altogether. However, a legal intervention by PVR Inox led to a limited theatrical release on May 23.
Now, in an unexpected development, the film has broken the standard 8-week OTT window and arrived early on streaming. Despite modest box office returns, Bhool Chuk Maaf won hearts with its breezy storytelling, endearing performances, and relatable humour — earning it the label of a sleeper hit.
Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, the film’s digital release is generating renewed interest, especially among younger audiences looking for fresh Hindi content on OTT.
