‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’: Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi’s Starrer To Hit Theatres On This Date After Legal Drama

May 15, 2025: After a turbulent few weeks involving legal battles and last-minute release changes, Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s film Bhool Chuk Maaf has finally secured new release dates. Initially set to skip its theatrical run and premiere directly on OTT due to the India-Pakistan conflict, the film faced a major setback when PVR Inox took legal action against Maddock Films.

The Bombay High Court had granted an ad-interim injunction preventing the movie’s release on Amazon Prime Video on May 16. This came after PVR Inox sought Rs 60 crore in damages, alleging breach of contract and citing financial losses due to the cancellation of the theatrical release.

Now, according to a report, Bhool Chuk Maaf will release in cinemas on May 23, followed by its OTT debut on June 6, just two weeks later. Promotional activities for the film are expected to resume from May 15.

The legal conflict arose after Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios announced that, in light of national security concerns, they would bring the film directly to Prime Video. However, this abrupt change did not sit well with PVR Inox, which had reportedly invested heavily in the theatrical rollout.

Directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Ranjan, a small-town boy from Banaras who lands a government job to win over his love, Titli. But things take a spiritual twist when he breaks a vow made to Lord Shiva, leading to a journey of love, karma, and redemption.

This marks the first on-screen pairing of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, and with the film now gearing up for a theatrical release, fans can look forward to watching the duo on the big screen before the movie heads to OTT.

Stay tuned as Bhool Chuk Maaf gears up to charm audiences in theatres on May 23 and stream on Prime Video from June 6.
