Big B Grills Agastya Nanda on KBC 17: “Who is Your Favorite, Nana or Nani?”

Mumbai: In a delightful preview of an upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, megastar Amitabh Bachchan was seen putting his grandson, Agastya Nanda, in a tight spot. Agastya, who is promoting his upcoming war drama Ikkis, was joined on the hot seat by director Sriram Raghavan and co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Simar Bhatia.

The “Tricky” Question

The lighthearted tension began when an audience member asked the young actor a question that most children dread:

“Mera sawal Agastya se hai… Apka favourite kaun hai nana ya nani?” (Who is your favorite: nana or nani?)

Agastya, visibly caught off guard, tried to sidestep the question with a laugh, saying, “Mushkil hai bahut yeh… next question please.” However, his grandfather was in no mood to let him off the hook, jokingly intervening with, “Nahi, nahi bolne dijiye… Hum janna chahthe hain” (No, let him speak. I want to know this).

A Family Affair

The episode turned into a heartwarming family reunion with Shweta Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda cheering from the audience. Adding to the banter, Jaideep Ahlawat jokingly warned Agastya about the consequences of his answer:

Option A: Name Jaya Bachchan (Nani) and risk getting “beaten up” at home by Nanu.
Option B: Name Amitabh Bachchan (Nana) and face the heat in the vanity van from Nani.

Amitabh’s Emotional Review of Ikkis

Away from the KBC fun, Amitabh Bachchan shared a deeply moving post on his blog after a special screening of Ikkis.

The Performance: Big B hailed Agastya’s portrayal of Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal as “perfection in every shot,” noting his “unfiltered honesty.”
Sentimental Journey: He recalled holding Agastya just hours after his birth at Breach Candy Hospital, watching him grow, and finally seeing him command the big screen.
A Hardened Viewer: “This is not a grandfather speaking, this is a hardened viewer of cinema,” he wrote, admitting the film left him in “silence” with eyes filled with tears of pride.

About the Film: Ikkis

The Story: A biographical war drama based on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who sacrificed his life in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
The Cast: Marks Agastya Nanda’s theatrical debut. It also features Dharmendra in his final on-screen role (filmed before his passing in November 2025).
New Release Date: To avoid a clash with the box office wave of Dhurandhar, the release has been moved to January 1, 2026.
