Bigg Boss Fame Rahul Vaidya Takes a Swipe At Virat Kohli, Says “Fan of the Cricketer, Not the Human Being”

May 6, 2025: Singer Rahul Vaidya has sparked a fresh wave of controversy by taking a personal dig at Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli, claiming he’s been blocked by the cricketer on Instagram and stating that while he remains a fan of Kohli’s cricket, he doesn’t endorse him “as a human being.”

The controversy began after Kohli was seen liking a post from social media personality Avneet Kaur. The interaction quickly gained traction online, leading to gossip and speculation. Kohli eventually addressed the issue, clarifying that it was a mistake attributed to Instagram’s algorithm. The situation seemed to settle down until Rahul Vaidya posted a humorous Instagram story poking fun at the incident, reigniting attention.

Speaking to ZoomTV, Vaidya shared, “Virat Kohli has blocked me for some reason. I am not even aware of the reason. I used to be his fan. I am still a fan of the cricketer, but I don’t endorse him as a human being.” He sarcastically added, “Probably, I am blocked because the algorithm ne Virat Kohli ke behalf pe mujhe galti se block kar diya hoga (the algorithm must’ve accidentally blocked me on Virat Kohli’s behalf).”

Following his post, Vaidya says he received an onslaught of online abuse from Kohli fans. “Eventually, the fans started abusing me. So, I had to give a reply by putting a simple status in which I called them ‘jokers’ rather than using bad words,” he said. He added that the trolling escalated to include his wife and sister, who were targeted with “cuss words” and deeply offensive remarks.

The heated exchange comes as Kohli remains in top form during the ongoing IPL 2025 season. With 505 runs in 11 innings, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter is currently the top scorer. RCB is set to play against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 9.
