Bigg Boss OTT: Premiere Date, New Hosts & Major Changes Inside

July 9, 2025: Bigg Boss OTT – The much-awaited Bigg Boss 19 is all set to hit screens in August 2025, and this time, the makers are pulling out all the stops with a revamped format, digital-first release, and multiple celebrity hosts throughout the season.

Digital-First Strategy: JioCinema Gets Exclusive Early Access

In a major shift, Bigg Boss 19 will premiere first on JioCinema, marking a digital-first rollout before airing on Colors TV. Episodes will stream on JioCinema and become available on TV 90 minutes later. This hybrid model is designed to boost OTT viewership while maintaining traditional TV engagement.

“The makers are positioning Bigg Boss 19 as a digital-first property. It will stream daily on JioCinema before airing on Colors TV.”

The premiere is expected on the weekend of August 29–30, kicking off what could be the longest season yet, with a five-month runtime planned.

Salman Khan to Host for 3 Months, Celebrity Panel to Take Over

Salman Khan, who has been the face of Bigg Boss for over a decade, will host only the first three months of Season 19. After that, the show will feature rotating celebrity hosts, including Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor.

A production insider confirmed:

“After Salman’s three-month stint, we’re bringing in other Bollywood bigwigs to keep the energy fresh. It’s still being decided if they’ll appear individually or rotate weekly.”

Despite the handover, Salman is expected to return for the grand finale.

Tentative Contestant List: Celebrities, Influencers & Surprises

The contestant lineup is still under wraps, but over 20 personalities from television, Bollywood, and social media have reportedly been approached. The show is expected to start with 15 contestants, with 3–5 wildcard entries joining later.
