Bill Gates Greets Smriti Irani In Hindi In ‘Kyunki 2’ Promo, Says ‘Jai Shree Krishna, Tulsi Ji’

Microsoft co-founder makes a historic virtual cameo in the reboot of the iconic daily soap, leaving fans stunned by the unexpected collaboration.

October 23, 2025: In the most unexpected television crossover of the year, billionaire philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is set to make a special cameo appearance in the reboot of the iconic Indian daily soap, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, blending global influence with legendary Indian television drama.

The upcoming episode will feature Gates interacting with Tulsi Virani, played by actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani, over a video call. A recently released, viral promo for the show gives a glimpse of this unique exchange, showing Gates greeting Tulsi in Hindi with “Jai Shree Krishna Tulsi Ji,” to which the matriarch of the Virani family expresses her eagerness for his connection “straight from America.”

More Than a Gimmick: Focus on Social Issues

Smriti Irani, who previously served as the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, confirmed the historic first in an exclusive interview. She clarified that Gates’ appearance is deeply connected to the show’s new social-issue-driven narrative.

The latest season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is focused on shedding light on women-centric and social issues, and Gates’ cameo will specifically highlight the critical work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the realm of women and child health.

“It’s a historic first. Bill Gates hasn’t been on any media platform in a fictional set-up,” Irani stated, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration. She highlighted her long-standing association with Gates and his foundation, saying, “We’re glad to have a global voice like Bill Gates lending support to us… I’ve seen how he advocates maternal and child health.”

Reports confirm that the virtual interaction will see Gates offering some “key advice” to Tulsi, integrating a global conversation on health awareness directly into a major Indian household serial. The special episode is being hailed by the cast and network as a milestone moment, bridging the gap between mass entertainment and global philanthropy to start a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement) rooted in awareness and empathy. Fans are eagerly awaiting the rare crossover to air.
