Blake Lively Allegedly Tried to Seize Creative Control From Justin Baldoni On ‘It Ends With Us’ Set

April 16, 2025: A crew member from the upcoming film It Ends With Us, based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, has alleged that Blake Lively attempted to overpower director Justin Baldoni’s creative control during production.

Storyboard artist Talia Spencer, who worked on the film, claimed that Lively “tried to take advantage and take power” from Baldoni, describing him as “kind and respectful,” according to a report by E! News. When asked directly if Lively sought to take control of the movie, Spencer responded, “I think she tried to, yes.” She further noted that there was a “massive compromise” in Baldoni’s original vision as a result.

These revelations come amid an ongoing legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni. Lively has accused Baldoni and his business partner, Jamey Heath, of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. Baldoni has denied the accusations and in turn alleged that Lively attempted to dominate the production creatively.

According to E! News, court documents reveal that Baldoni claimed Lively leveraged her friendship with Taylor Swift to influence the movie, allegedly threatening to withhold Swift’s song from the trailer unless her demands were met. Baldoni also alleged that two versions of the film were ultimately created—one by him, and another edited by Lively, the latter reportedly being the version that was released.

As of now, Lively’s representatives have not responded to the latest claims made by Spencer.

The film, already surrounded by high expectations due to the popularity of the source material, now faces further scrutiny over what’s happening behind the scenes. The legal battle continues, with a trial expected in 2026.
