Blake Lively Breaks Silence After $650 Million Lawsuit Dismissal-This is What She Said
Los Angeles | June 10, 2025 —
Hollywood actor Blake Lively has spoken out following the dismissal of actor-director Justin Baldoni’s massive $650 million lawsuit against her, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times. The lawsuit, widely seen as a retaliatory move, stemmed from a legal and public fallout that followed their 2024 film It Ends With Us.

The court ruling, delivered on Monday, marks a major legal win for Lively and her co-defendants. Following the verdict, the 37-year-old actor addressed her followers through Instagram Stories, expressing deep gratitude while shedding light on the emotional and social strain such lawsuits can inflict.
“Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organisations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety,” wrote Lively. “Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us.”
She added:
“While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back… I’m more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves — their safety, their integrity, their dignity, and their story.”
She also used her platform to spotlight organizations that support women facing similar challenges, encouraging followers to educate themselves and seek help when needed.
Lively and Baldoni worked together in the 2024 adaptation of It Ends With Us. The behind-the-scenes fallout eventually escalated into a highly public legal battle, with Baldoni alleging defamation, breach of contract, and reputational harm — claims that were ultimately dismissed in court.

The judge’s ruling stated that Baldoni’s lawsuit lacked substantial merit, siding with the defendants and emphasizing the importance of free expression and legal protections for those speaking out on personal safety.
Lively’s public response goes beyond personal vindication. She emphasized the disparity in access to legal resources and the emotional cost of being targeted with retaliatory legal action.
“With love and gratitude for the many who stood by me — many of you I know. Many of you I don’t. But I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you,” she concluded.
Her post has been widely praised online, with fans and advocacy groups applauding her courage and advocacy for women’s rights in high-profile spaces.
