Blake Lively Falls for Michele Morrone’s ‘Lion Attack’ Story In Embarrassing Prank

May 17, 2025: Tensions or not, the set of Another Simple Favor wasn’t short on laughs—especially thanks to a prank pulled off by Michele Morrone that left co-star Blake Lively hilariously mortified.

In a recent Glamour “Friendship Test” video featuring the film’s primary cast—Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and Michele Morrone—a prompt about “most embarrassing set moments” led to the reveal of a wild (and fake) story that Michele convinced Blake to believe.

Michele started: “When I actually told Blake my dad died… eaten by a lion. And she believed me.” Blake, slightly flustered, jumped in to clarify, “Let’s reverse the story for a second,” but the tale was already out.

Michele explained how he had crafted a believable tragic backstory—claiming he was the youngest of four siblings and that during a family zoo trip, his father had fallen into a lion enclosure and died. Blake, he said, offered sincere condolences before awkwardly laughing, unsure of how to respond.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry,’” Blake recalled. “But I was also like… are you f***ing with me?”

The whole cast burst out laughing, with Anna Kendrick shouting, “So mean!” and Blake adding, “I was embarrassed to fall for it, but also to laugh at your dad being mauled by a lion in front of your child’s eyes.”

Despite the prank being “so mean,” as Anna put it, Blake took it in stride—summing it up with a laugh: “Yeah, that’s the moment I was like, ‘I love this man forever.’”

Even amid rumored behind-the-scenes awkwardness during the press tour, it’s moments like these that prove there was at least some fun to be had while making Another Simple Favor.
