Blake Lively Opens Up on 2025 Struggles Amid $400M Justin Baldoni Lawsuit: “Highest Highs, Lowest Lows”

Blake Lively breaks her silence on the emotional toll of the legal battle with Justin Baldoni, calling 2025 a year of personal extremes while vowing to keep using her platform to speak out.

May 3, 2025: Blake Lively is facing one of the toughest chapters of her life — both personally and professionally.

The actress recently opened up on Late Night with Seth Meyers about the intense emotional journey she’s endured since the start of 2025. From career milestones to a high-stakes legal war, Lively described the year as being filled with “the highest highs and the lowest lows.”

At the center of this turbulence is a $400 million lawsuit filed by actor-director Justin Baldoni, who co-starred and directed her in It Ends With Us. Though Lively couldn’t speak in detail about the pending litigation, which won’t go to trial until May 2026, she acknowledged the strain it has placed on her life.

“Not everyone has the resources I do,” Lively told Meyers. “But if I can use my voice to say something, I will — even if I can’t say everything right now.”

The lawsuit isn’t the only issue plaguing her. Lively hinted at deeper on-set tensions during the filming of It Ends With Us, including concerns over improvised intimacy and lack of a coordinator — discomforts that reportedly led to a strained relationship with Baldoni.

In addition to the legal clash, Lively has been the target of a coordinated smear campaign online, which she believes Baldoni orchestrated. While she didn’t name him directly on air, her allusions were pointed and firm.

Despite the turmoil, she maintained her composure during the interview, even pivoting to lighter topics like parenting and her love for cheese, showing resilience through the storm.

“It’s not just about me,” Lively emphasized. “There are so many women who can’t speak out — even when they know they’re right.”

While it’s unclear how the lawsuit will unfold, Lively’s calm but candid demeanor reveals the emotional burden she’s carrying. Whether justice will prevail remains uncertain, but her fight, both public and personal, is far from over.
