Urmila Matondkar posted an image emphasizing yoga’s importance, writing, “Yoga needs to be a lifestyle, much more than a mere post or celebrating it on a certain day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations of the 10th International Day of Yoga at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Modi congratulated people worldwide and emphasized yoga’s growing global impact over the past decade.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” highlights yoga’s role in fostering individual well-being and societal harmony. Since 2015, Modi has led International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru, and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This year’s celebrations will span across the nation, featuring the event “Yoga for Space,” where ISRO centers and units will participate in the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). Indian Embassies and Missions abroad will also join, reflecting yoga’s widespread influence.
Several other celebrities, including Patralekhaa, Esha Gupta, and Anupam Kher, shared inspiring posts, further promoting yoga on International Day of Yoga. The celebration underscores yoga’s profound impact on young minds and bodies, aiming to unite thousands in promoting global health and wellness.
