A day after the passing of Menaka Irani, mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, Bollywood stars gathered at Farah’s residence to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time. Menaka Irani passed away on July 26 at the age of 79, following multiple surgeries.
Among the celebrities who visited to pay their respects were actors Hrithik Roshan, Raveena Tandon, and John Abraham. Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta Nanda, and Agastya Nanda also arrived to offer their condolences. Tennis star Sania Mirza, a close friend of Farah Khan, was seen expressing her heartfelt sympathies.
On Friday, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, accompanied by his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan, also paid a visit to Farah’s residence. Pooja Dadlani, Shah Rukh’s manager, was present as well. After meeting the bereaved family, SRK, Gauri, and Suhana were seen comforting Farah as they made their exit. In visuals captured by photographers, Farah was seen hugging SRK and Suhana, showcasing the deep bond they share.
The heartbreaking news of Menaka Irani’s passing came shortly after Farah had posted a touching birthday tribute to her mother on Instagram, celebrating her strength and bravery despite undergoing multiple surgeries. “This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom Menka… she’s been the strongest, bravest person I’ve ever seen… sense of humour intact even after multiple surgeries. Happy birthday mom! Today’s a good day to come back home… can’t wait for you to get strong enough to start fighting with me again… I love you,” Farah wrote.
Earlier on Friday, several other celebrities, including Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Bhushan Kumar, and MC Stan, visited Farah’s house to mourn the loss and show their support.
Menaka Irani’s passing has been a deeply emotional time for Farah and Sajid Khan, with the support and love from their friends and colleagues in the film industry offering some solace during this challenging period.
