Bollywood Stars Shine at ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Event

The pre-release event for Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in Mumbai became a highlight in Bollywood as stars Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a delightful moment that captured hearts. The event, which also saw the presence of industry veterans like Kamal Haasan and Rana Daggubati, was a platform for the cast to discuss their roles and experiences from the set.

A trending video from the event showcased Amitabh Bachchan in a playful mood, teasing his co-star Prabhas. The lighthearted moment occurred as Prabhas assisted Deepika Padukone down the stairs. In a charming gesture, Amitabh Bachchan embraced Prabhas from behind, resulting in a heartwarming interaction that resonated with the audience.

The event was a visual treat, with mom-to-be Deepika Padukone looking stunning in a black dress, complemented by her co-stars Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, who also opted for black outfits. Kamal Haasan’s presence added to the star-studded affair, despite him not being part of the film.

Prior to the event, Deepika Padukone shared glimpses of her baby bump on Instagram. She posted a series of blurry, monochrome pictures, flaunting a form-fitting dress with a back slit, high heels, and elegant jewelry, adding to the anticipation surrounding her appearance.

In the buildup to the film’s release, the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ unveiled the energetic ‘Bhairava Anthem’ featuring Prabhas and Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh. The song showcases Prabhas and Diljit twinning in traditional Punjabi attire, with Prabhas donning a turban. Diljit Dosanjh shared a teaser of the song on Instagram, expressing excitement for the collaboration.

The track, sung by Diljit Dosanjh and Vijaynarain, with lyrics by Kumaar and music by Santhosh Narayanan, perfectly encapsulates Prabhas’s character Bhairava in the film.

Additionally, last month, the filmmakers released a teaser of Amitabh Bachchan’s look from this sci-fi dystopian movie during an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The 21-second teaser featured Big B in warm earthy tones, seated in a cave, praying to a Shiva linga, and covered in bandages. A child’s query in the clip, “Are you God? Can you not die?” is met with Big B’s enigmatic response, “Since the Dwapar Yug, I have waited for the Dasavatar. I am Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya.”

Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ draws inspiration from Hindu scriptures and is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The film promises to be a visually stunning and narratively compelling experience when it hits theaters on June 27.
