Bombay HC Dismisses Plea Against Jolly LLB 3 Movie

The Bombay High Court dismissed a plea seeking a stay on Jolly LLB 3 for allegedly mocking the judiciary, stating that judges were “used to” such portrayals.

September 17, 2025: The Bombay High Court turned down a request to stop the distribution of the upcoming movie Jolly LLB 3 in a funny and forthright way, informing the person who made the request that the court is “used to such mockery.”

The Association for Aiding Justice filed a complaint with Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad. They said that the movie and its song, “Bhai Vakeel Hai,” were insulting and made “a mockery of judges and lawyers.” The petitioner’s counsel specifically objected to a scenario where judges are called “mamu,” which they said was slang that was disrespectful to the court.

The court, on the other hand, seemed to find the petition funny and didn’t care about the claims. The bench turned down the request with a funny remark, saying, “We have been mocked since day one.” Don’t be concerned about us.

The producers’ lawyers told the court that the Allahabad High Court had already thrown out a similar case against the movie because it didn’t find any evidence of disrespect for the law. The Bombay High Court’s decision means that the movie has passed another legal test just days before it is set to come out on September 19.
