Box Office Day-7: Budgeted at ₹150 Cr., Raid 2 Nears ₹150 Crore Worldwide Despite Slowing Momentum in Week 1

Ajay Devgn’s anti-corruption thriller Raid 2 inches closer to a ₹150 crore global gross, outperforming several recent Hindi releases despite midweek drops.

May 9, 2025: Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, continues its solid run at the box office as it approaches the ₹150 crore mark globally. Though the film saw a 35.43% dip in collections on its seventh day (Wednesday), it remains one of the stronger performers among recent Hindi releases.

After a strong opening of ₹19.25 crore on May 1 and an impressive weekend earning of ₹40 crore, the film has witnessed a gradual decline in daily numbers. On Day 7, it earned ₹4.52 crore (net) in India, bringing its total domestic net collection to ₹90.27 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film’s resilience, tweeting that Raid 2 held firm on Tuesday without slashing ticket prices under the ₹99 “Blockbuster Tuesday” scheme, suggesting solid word-of-mouth support. The film is expected to breach the ₹100 crore net mark in India by Thursday or Friday.

Globally, Raid 2 has already grossed ₹118 crore in its first six days—₹102 crore from Indian screens and ₹16 crore from overseas markets. With the Day 7 earnings added, the worldwide gross is estimated to be closing in on ₹135 crore.

Produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series, the film stars Ajay Devgn as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who is on his 75th mission against corruption. Vaani Kapoor plays the female lead, while Riteish Deshmukh takes on the role of the antagonist. Despite waning occupancy—reported at 10.09% for Hindi screens on Wednesday—the film continues to outperform Kesari Chapter 2 and Jaat 2.

With another weekend on the horizon, all eyes are now on whether Raid 2 can maintain its pace and break the ₹150 crore barrier in the coming days.
