Son of Sardaar 2 clashed with Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, but emerged ahead on opening day.
New Delhi, August-2, 2025: Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited sequel Son of Sardaar 2 opened to an encouraging start at the box office, collecting approximately Rs 6.75 crore (India net) on its first day.
The encouraging trend for the film according to Sacnilk, was the fact that the occupancy picked up steadily through the day, with the highest footfalls during the night shows (40.27 per cent).
Morning shows saw a modest 10.24 per cent occupancy, while afternoon and evening shows registered 17.88 per cent and 21.84 per cent, respectively.
On the other hand, Dhadak 2 managed to earn only around Rs 3 crore, giving the Ajay Devgn-starrer a solid lead.
Both films are also competing with recently-released hit films like Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha, adding more pressure at the ticket counters.
