September 10, 2025: A man and his wife alleged they were beaten at a multiplex in Pune after they told another moviegoer to stop chatting loudly and giving away spoilers for the upcoming horror movie The Conjuring: Last Rites.
The occurrence, which happened in a cinema theater in Pimpri Chinchwad, highlights how popular the movie is in India, where it has already smashed records by becoming the highest-grossing horror movie in the country.

A 29-year-old software engineer and his wife were watching a movie on Tuesday night when a man behind them started telling his wife the story, according to a complaint filed with the Chinchwad police. The accused allegedly grew angry and punched the man after the complainant urged him to stop during the break. The victim’s wife was also attacked when she tried to intervene.
The police have written up a report and named the culprit and his wife, but no one has been taken into custody yet. A lot of people are talking about the scary event on social media. Many of them are denouncing the attack and stating they can’t believe how little the reason for the fight was.
