April 2, 2025: The highly anticipated horror film Bring Her Back has just dropped its first full trailer, offering a chilling glimpse into the supernatural tale. Directed by Australian twin filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou, who made waves with their hit film Talk to Me, Bring Her Back is being hailed as a spiritual successor to their previous success, according to Deadline.

The one-minute-forty-second trailer reveals a haunting narrative led by two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins. In the film, Hawkins portrays a mother, grieving the tragic loss of her child. When asked how she dealt with the heartbreaking tragedy, she chillingly responds, “I didn’t.” She then cryptically hints at a dark secret: she has spoken with an angel who might help her bring her child back from the dead. The film follows the mother as she engages in a terrifying supernatural ritual, one that could reunite her with her lost child, but at a cost.

Bring Her Back also features a talented supporting cast including Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, and Jonah Wren Phillips. The plot centers around a brother and sister who discover a horrifying ritual in the home of their new foster mother, unraveling an increasingly twisted mystery as they go.

This highly anticipated film is slated for release in U.S. theaters on May 30. Bring Her Back was co-written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman and co-financed by Salmira Productions and the South Australian Film Corporation. The film’s production was led by Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton under Causeway Films, who had previously worked together on Talk to Me.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has secured international rights for the film, except for Canada, China, Japan, and Russia, while A24 holds the domestic distribution rights. This marks the next step for the Philippou brothers after their 2023 success with Talk to Me, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and became A24’s highest-grossing horror film. Talk to Me grossed over $92 million worldwide against a modest $4.5 million budget, solidifying the Philippou brothers as a prominent name in the horror genre.

With a gripping premise, an eerie atmosphere, and a talented cast, Bring Her Back is poised to be the next big horror sensation this summer. Fans can expect a spine-tingling experience that delves into grief, the supernatural, and the lengths a mother will go to bring her child back from the beyond.
