The purple ocean returned to South Korea on April 9, 2024, as BTS officially launched their massive ARIRANG World Tour 2026 at Goyang Stadium.
Despite torrential rain, over 40,000 fans (ARMY) braved the weather to witness the group’s first full-scale headline performance since completing their mandatory military service. The rain only served to heighten the atmosphere as the septet delivered a high-octane, 2.5-hour set that proved they remain the undisputed kings of K-pop.
The 23-song setlist featured live debuts of tracks from their chart-topping new album, ARIRANG, including the alternative pop title track “SWIM,” the energetic “Body to Body,” and the reflective “2.0.” Between new releases, the group revisited iconic hits like “Mic Drop,” “Fire,” and “Run BTS.” Members embraced the rain with lighthearted humor; Suga compared the stadium to a water park, while V delighted fans by mimicking a breaststroke on the wet stage during “Swim.”
This tour is shaping up to be one of the largest in music history, with an estimated 81 shows across 34 cities worldwide. Following their three-night residency in Goyang, the group will head to Tokyo Dome before embarking on a sprawling North American leg that includes stops in Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Toronto. Financial analysts estimate the tour’s total revenue could reach a staggering $1.8 billion, underscoring the band’s massive global economic footprint.
While Indian fans await a potential tour date, PVR INOX has stepped in to bring the stadium experience to the subcontinent. Starting April 11, 2026, live screenings and re-broadcasts of the Goyang and Tokyo shows will be available in over 20 Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. As RM promised fans during the opener, this tour is just the beginning of a “limitless” new era for the group.
