Can Housefull 5 Break the ₹500 Crore Barrier for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Production?

The comedy thriller Housefull 5 carries massive expectations as it gears up for its June 6, 2025 release. Starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and a star-studded cast, the film is not just anticipated to be a blockbuster, but it might also be the key to unlocking major post-Covid box office milestones for Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE).

Since the pandemic, NGE has backed seven films, but only Satyaprem Ki Katha turned out to be a hit. Here’s a snapshot of their post-Covid box office journey:

Housefull 5 could be the film that helps NGE cross the ₹500 crore post-Covid mark. With the film needing just ₹20.65 crores to hit that milestone, the ambitious opening day is likely to seal the deal.

However, the stakes are even higher. With a staggering budget of ₹375 crores, Housefull 5 must earn ₹750 crores domestically to be deemed a “hit.” Achieving ₹520.65 crores from this film would push NGE’s total post-Covid earnings past the ₹1000 crore mark — a huge achievement for the production house.

Adding to the buzz, Housefull 5 is breaking new ground by releasing in two different formats with alternate endings — Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. Advance bookings have already started for both versions, showing high anticipation among audiences worldwide.

As the film inches closer to its release, all eyes are on Housefull 5 to see if it can deliver big at the box office and revive Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s fortunes in the post-pandemic era.
