February 16, 2025: Slow Start for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ in India
Marvel Studios’ ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is off to a sluggish start at the Indian box office. Despite being part of the MCU, the film has struggled to generate excitement among fans, with only ₹8.3 crore collected in two days.

The film also faced low occupancy rates, reflecting the lack of hype. On February 15, 2025, the overall English occupancy stood at 23.26%, with night shows recording the highest at 27.09%. The Hindi (3D) version had an overall occupancy of 11.66%, while Hindi (2D) fared even worse at 10.02%.
Directed by Julius Onah, the movie sees Anthony Mackie stepping into the role of Captain America, alongside Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, and Liv Tyler. While performances have been praised, audiences have criticized the film’s underwhelming CGI, convoluted plot, and franchise fatigue.
With a weak second-day collection, it remains uncertain whether the film will gain momentum in the coming days, especially with competition from Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ dominating the Indian box office.
