CBFC Clears Rahu Ketu With Cuts
Pulkit Samrat–Varun Sharma starrer gets U/A 16+ rating after mandated changes
January 14, 2026: Actors Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma’s upcoming comedy drama Rahu Ketu has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), but not without certain modifications. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the censor board has directed the makers to replace a specific dialogue in one scene as part of the certification process.
The CBFC has also asked for visual changes across the film. Scenes showing drug sniffing or snorting have been instructed to be replaced with appropriate shots. Additionally, gestures involving the middle finger are to be modified to the pinky finger wherever they appear, while all alcohol brand names must be removed from the film.
Apart from visual and dialogue edits, the Examining Committee sought further clarifications from the makers. An authentication letter has been demanded for the Sanskrit shloka used in the movie, and the team has also been asked to replace the ‘Kantara’ film music (voom scream) featured in Rahu Ketu. Following these changes, the film is now set for release with its U/A 16+ certification.
