After seven successful seasons, CBS announces the final chapter for The Neighborhood, while potential spin-offs remain in the pipeline.
Washington (DC) [US], March 11: The popular American sitcom ‘The Neighborhood’ has been officially renewed for its eighth and final season, set to air during the 2025-2026 broadcast season, Variety reported. Currently, Season 7 is airing on CBS, and fans can look forward to one last season of laughter, heart, and community before the beloved show bids farewell.
Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, expressed her gratitude to the cast and crew for delivering humor and heartfelt storytelling for nearly a decade.
“The brilliant cast and creative team at The Neighborhood, led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer, have brought levity, laughter, and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons,” Reisenbach said.
She emphasized the show’s impact on CBS’s success and assured fans that the final season will deliver a memorable farewell.
“The Neighborhood is a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV. We believe the show’s loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series,” she added.
A Strong Performer with a Potential Spinoff
The sitcom has consistently been a top performer, averaging 6.4 million viewers per episode in Live+35 multiplatform viewing. The ensemble cast features Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears, and Skye Townsend.
The show’s executive producers include Bill Martin, Mike Schiff, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Cedric the Entertainer, and Eric Rhone, with CBS Studios backing the production.
A Future Beyond ‘The Neighborhood’?
While the main series is coming to an end, there’s speculation about a spinoff. Reports suggest that CBS is developing a new series centered around characters played by Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney, though it has yet to be formally greenlit.
Additionally, another spinoff titled “Crutch” starring Tracy Morgan is set to premiere later this year on Paramount+, potentially expanding the sitcom’s universe.
