Eid Al-Adha, a significant festival in the Islamic calendar, is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the lunar calendar. This festival signifies the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage and commemorates Prophet Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.

The celebrations are marked by joy, peace, and unity. Families gather, old grudges are forgiven, and people forge meaningful connections. Devout followers flock to mosques and religious sites to offer prayers and partake in the festive spirit.

At Delhi’s historic Jama Masjid, hundreds of worshippers gathered for the morning prayers. In Uttar Pradesh, devotees assembled at Mubarak Khan Shaheed Mazaar in Gorakhpur and Jama Masjid in Noida. Mumbai’s Makhdoom Ali Mahimi mosque in Mahim also saw a significant turnout of worshippers.

In Bhopal, Idgah Masjid witnessed heartfelt celebrations. Coimbatore’s Islamiyah Matriculation Higher Secondary School and various locations in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, also joined in the festivities. Rajasthan’s famous dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer was thronged by devotees, while Kerala’s Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium in Trivandrum became a central site for collective prayer and reflection.

The spirit of Eid Al-Adha was vividly alive across the country, uniting people in celebration and devotion.
