Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz is receiving an outpouring of congratulatory messages from celebrities following his Wimbledon triumph. From Sidharth Malhotra to Kareena Kapoor Khan, many took to social media to celebrate his victory.
Actor Sidharth Malhotra shared a picture of Carlos Alcaraz on his Instagram story, writing, “What a game! Congratulations, @carlitosalcarazz, on winning the Gentlemen’s Singles finale for the second year in a row at Wimbledon, defeating the legendary @djokernole. Watching you play live this season and witnessing your exceptional skill was an absolute delight! You truly deserve this moment!”
Kartik Aaryan, who watched the match, posted a clip of Alcaraz on his Instagram story, captioning it, “What a Win. Pure Class. Congratulations @carlitosalcarazz.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan re-shared Wimbledon’s post, adding, “oh you GOAT.”
Alcaraz clinched his second consecutive Wimbledon title by defeating Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) at the Centre Court in London. In the Wimbledon 2024 final, the Spanish player dominated from the start, winning the first set 6-2 in 41 minutes after a double break. He maintained his momentum in the second set, also winning 6-2, while Djokovic struggled to make a comeback.
Djokovic showed resilience in the third set, making it a tough fight and forcing the match into a tiebreak. However, Alcaraz kept his composure and secured the tiebreak 7-4, winning the final in straight sets.
