Former Miss India Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence complaint against her Austrian husband, Peter Haag, alleging years of emotional, physical, and financial abuse that culminated in her fleeing their home in Austria, leaving behind her three children.
November 26, 2025: Actor and former Miss India Celina Jaitly Haag has initiated major legal proceedings against her estranged husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The actress, who was married to Haag for 15 years, has filed a detailed plea alleging “continuous acts of domestic violence” including emotional, physical, verbal, and financial abuse.

The plea, filed on November 21, 2025, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Andheri, Mumbai, paints a distressing picture of the marriage. The court has since verified the complaint and issued a notice to Peter Haag, with the next hearing scheduled for December 12.
Allegations of Abuse and Financial Coercion
The 47-year-old mother of three, represented by the law firm Karanjawala & Co., has listed several shocking allegations:
- Racial and Verbal Abuse: The complaint claims Haag frequently subjected Jaitly to racist and degrading remarks, allegedly referring to her as his “maidservant” and stating she “looked like his maid.”
- Physical and Emotional Cruelty: The plea describes Haag as a “narcissistic, self-absorbed individual” with “short temper and alcoholic tendencies.” Specific instances of alleged abuse were cited, including an incident where Haag physically pushed Celina out of their apartment just three weeks postpartum.
- Career Sabotage: Celina alleges that after the birth of their children, Haag prohibited her from working, systematically robbing her of her financial independence and dignity.
- Financial Manipulation: Jaitly claims Haag “calculatedly hoodwinked her” into giving him control of her assets. She further alleges that Haag pressured her to transfer ownership of her residence in Mumbai to his name via a ‘gift deed’ while she was undergoing severe depression after the tragic death of her newborn twin son and both her parents in 2017.
Fleeing Home and Seeking Custody
The legal document states that the abuse escalated to such a degree that Jaitly was “forced to flee the parties’ home in Austria in the middle of the night and return to India, leaving behind her three children.”
Celina is currently seeking:
- Compensation: A payment of ₹50 crore for the trauma and loss of earnings caused by the alleged abuse.
- Monthly Maintenance: ₹10 lakh per month for her financial stability.
- Children’s Access: A custody order directing Peter to provide her with “unhindered virtual and telephonic access” to their children, who are currently in his custody in Austria.
It was also revealed that Haag had filed for divorce in an Austrian court earlier this year. Celina has also filed a separate civil suit in Bombay to cancel the gift deed that transferred her Mumbai property to Haag.

Following the news, Celina Jaitly posted an emotional note on social media, confirming the filing of the Domestic Violence complaint and affirming her resolve: “My priority remains fighting for my soldier brother, fighting for my children’s love, fighting for my dignity… Here is to the year I reclaim everything that was taken from me.”
