Celine Dion Tipped for Eurovision Comeback in Switzerland—37 Years After Historic Win

Producers eye the iconic singer Celine Dion for a special performance at Eurovision 2025, marking her triumphant return to the stage after battling stiff person syndrome.

Geneva, March 8 – Music icon Celine Dion is at the top of producers’ wish lists for a special performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, set to take place in Switzerland—where she famously won the competition 37 years ago.

Dion, now 56, secured Switzerland’s last Eurovision victory in 1988 with her unforgettable performance of Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi. She qualified to represent the country as the songwriters were Swiss and narrowly clinched victory, edging out the UK by just one point.

Following Switzerland’s win in 2024, thanks to Nemo’s The Code, the country will host this year’s competition in May. Now, fans are eagerly hoping that Dion will make a triumphant return to the Eurovision stage.

The French-Canadian superstar has largely stepped away from the limelight in recent years due to her battle with stiff person syndrome, a neurological disorder affecting movement and vocal abilities. However, she thrilled fans with a surprise comeback at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, where she delivered a flawless rendition of the French classic Hymne à l’amour from the Eiffel Tower.

Eurovision has a history of securing major global artists for its interval performances. Previous guests include Justin Timberlake and Madonna, though neither has won the competition. Last year, Sweden attempted to reunite Abba for the 50th anniversary of their Waterloo victory, but fans had to settle for their digital ‘Abbatars’ instead.

With Switzerland hosting Eurovision for the first time in decades, a Celine Dion comeback would be a historic full-circle moment—and fans around the world are eagerly waiting for an official announcement.
